Cross Training
Adult Curriculum
We train and condition not just for the classroom, but for everyday life.
The principle behind Hybrid Hapkido is a simple one. "If it works use it." To determine which techniques fit the realism concept of Hybrid Hapkido we continually upgrade current techniques and seek out new concepts and techniques to add to our curriculum. But all of the techniques require some type of conditioning which can be found in Cross Training. No, Cross Training is not "required" to be a member of Hybrid Hapkido, but remember I believe in being at your best. Career criminals train in their craft to assault you. Don't you think you should train in yours to defeat them?
Techniques from (various systems of) Hapkido, Judo, Brazilian Jujutsu, Tae Kwon Do, Sambo, Jeet Kune Do, Tang Soo Do, Boxing, Muay Thai, Aikijutsu and Aikido (to name a few) make up our street practical and streetwise system designed for achieving success in a combat situation. To perform techniques to your absolute best you must supply the:
- Dedication - A student must be willing to come to class dedicated in their pursuit to acquire knowledge and excellence.
- Desire - To become your best you must WANT IT and have a hunger to achieve it.
- Perfect Practice - Perfect practice leads to perfect execution. The amount of time that you practice is not as important as the intensity of the practice. You only get out of practice what you put into it.
- Open Mind - Bruce Lee once said that those who wish to train with him must empty their cup so he can fill it. We are not asking for you to forget what you have already learned. Some of the most valuable lessons learned come from life's experiences. However, if you come in with a mind set that you already know everything then why are you here asking to train with us?
From weightlifting to cardio stair stepping machines, skate boarding, football, wrestling, track, etc..., Cross Training is essential to the growth of the practitioner. All of these help the overall development of our students. Cross Training in other styles of the martial arts is not needed, we have already done this for you saving you the tens of thousands of dollars. By studying these systems we are able to give you the best of the best, molding you into a complete martial artist.
A prospective student told me that she wants to learn how to kick. That is great I told her, but what if someone punches you? Another said, I want to learn to fight on the ground. That is great I said, but I have not heard of a fight starting on the ground. The point being that with the majority of systems and styles they are great at one aspect of protection, defense or fighting. Hybrid Hapkido combines cross training and conditioning to make it even more complete.
