Student Rules & Conduct
- Remove shoes upon entering the dojang (training mat).
- Place shoes and coats in the third level room above the loft area.
- No street shoes on the training mat. Martial arts shoes supplied by Master C are allowed.
- Bow upon entering and leaving the dojang.
- No chewing gum or any other substance in the dojang.
- No jewelry is worn in the dojang.
- No horseplay in the dojang.
- Everyone is due the respect of being addressed as Sir and Ma’am, including instructors, students, parents and visitors.
- Always answer with the proper level of respect (i.e. Yes Sir, No Sir).
- When spoken to, always look the instructor directly in the eye.
- When being excused from class, always bow out. When re-entering, always bow back in.
- Uniforms must be clean and neat, absolutely no tears or rips. A ripped uniform means push-ups. SWAT uniforms should be neat and pressed. SWAT set the example!
- Fingernails and toenails are to be trimmed neatly.
- Be on time for class. If you are late, stand at the edge of the training floor at attention and wait to be acknowledged by the instructor before joining class.
- If you arrive early for class, bow into the dojang to stretch and warm-up.
- Colored belt students are NOT to be upstairs when class is in session; students are expected to participate in the class and assist the instructor as needed.
- Kids MUST be supervised in the loft area. If white belt students stay to watch the next class, you must be supervised by a parent/guardian. Childcare is NOT provided. All kids upstairs should be silent and seated, not running around or being loud.
- Students line up in order of belt rank.
- No talking when the instructor is speaking.
- Zero tolerance for obscene language or rude gestures.
Parental Etiquette
- Parents are NOT allowed to yell down to students from the loft area.
- Parents are responsible for controlling their children in the loft area.
- Do not allow any child to throw or push anything to the training floor below.
- If your child needs to use the restroom, parents must accompany them.
- Do not allow ANY child to play on the stairs, sit on or lean over the counters, or horseplay in the loft for any reason.
